Composer, William C. Louis Brux

William C. Louis-Brux is a seasoned composer whose musical voice resonates across performing arts centers, movie screens, and sacred spaces. For over three decades, William C. Louis-Brux has crafted seven musicals, two operas and many orchestral and choral works.

The cinematic quality of his compositions became increasingly apparent, leading him to pursue formal training in film scoring at the Film Scoring Academy of Europe and extensive online study. Will said, “letting the music speak for itself has always been my insight into film scoring, as well as my organ music, and concert music. I don't push it any one way or the other, I just let it happen as it wants to become a tangible element in our universe.”

The animated fantasy short “Spring” is one of several films Will has scored where there is no dialogue. The entire voice of the film is through the actions and gestures of the characters and the music. The music bears the responsibility of establishing the atmosphere and conveying emotions that the characters do not verbalize. “Spring” is visually stunning, and the craftsmanship used to create it and the storyline have made it his favorite film to score!

Will's workday begins at 4 a.m. and concludes around 6 p.m., continuing daily until a film is completed. He ensures a steady flow of coffee at his desk, and just lets the creative vibes flow through him. According to Will, “For me, it's just like taking down dictation. I've always believed that my music pre-exists in the Spiritual Realm and I'm just a means for the music to become tangible.”

In addition to being a composer, Will is also the resident organ artist at Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon, WI and their Music Director. William C. Louis-Brux's life is a testament to the power of music to transcend boundaries and touch the soul.
